YOUR LIFE’S PURPOSE

Your Life’s Purpose (LP) statement guides and empowers you. It is the filter through which you see opportunities in the world and will serve as your North Star in a world of ever-increasing abundance, distractions, and demands on your time.

A PURPOSE STATEMENT COMMANDS SIX ELEMENTS:

  1. Massive and inspiring. It’s bigger than you. It’s how you will serve the world, and it should excite you and those around you. 

  2. Uniquely yours. It is authentically you, and you’re proud of it. 

  3. Emotionally driven. It energizes the pursuit of your biggest dreams. The best LPs are driven by strong positive (wonder, awe, joy) and/or strong negative emotional drivers (pain, concern, anger). 

  4. Life commitment (or at least the next 10 years). Individual projects may change, but your LP is so powerful and inspiring that it is worth committing at least a decade of your life, treasure, and talents to accomplish over the long term.

  5. The LP statement is brief, easy to remember and recite. You need to be able to memorize it and make it easy for others to remember as well.
